The Managed Care Nurse Supervisor provides leadership, mentoring, and serves as a primary resource to Managed Care Support (MCSS) staff, under the direction of the System Manager, Managed Care Support Services. The Manager Care Nurse Supervisor works collaboratively with and provides clinical expertise and leadership to Access Coordinators and Managed Care Nurses to perform all aspects of managed care, including the referral, prior authorization/precertification processes, using and revising Essentia Health policies and procedures for managed care activities. Supports efforts and participates with the System Manager, Managed Care Support Services (MCSS) and the MCSS Medical Directors regarding health care initiatives and compliance issues for health plans. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements) Education and/or years experience required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with RN licensure Over two year’s nursing experience in clinical, hospital, Insurance industry, Health Plans, or Public Health settings with demonstrated leadership ability. Licensure/Certifications required: Current RN licensure in appropriate state Managed Care Nurse certification or obtain within two years of date of hire
