As an Senior Production Planner at the Ridge Tool Company world headquarters in Elyria Ohio, youll be part of a team that delivers innovative world class tools and products to the professional tradesman.

The Senior Production Planner coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules. Duties include reviewing and coordinating production work and shipment schedules; conferring with department supervisors to assess the progress of work and completion dates; inventory levels, and solving material-related production problems.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Plan manufacturing workflow to meet customer requirements and ensure on-time delivery; ensure customer delivery requirements are met by best utilizing our production capabilities and in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards.

Schedule and coordinate the flow of materials, parts and sub-assemblies between shop floor departments, as well as to and from suppliers, by ensuring the availability of equipment, tooling, and materials.

Perform data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand.

Prioritizes work order scheduling for production optimization.

Follow-up as required to expedite flow of materials and documents to meet production schedule and customer expectation.

Analyze and prepare documents needed for production i.e. release and maintain production and purchase orders to support production plan

Review and analyze status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory reduction.

Interact with shop floor management and/or supervisors on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or gather additional information as requested from Manufacturing, Customer Service and Accounting.

Coordinate and communicate effectively with various internal and external departments to ensure continuous work flow.

Set the example by actively contributing to department and company goals.

* Take initiative and seek additional training or direction as needed.
* Ensure processes are consistent with quality objectives.
* Develop and support departmental/company goals and controls.
* Make suggestions for improvement in areas of cost reduction, processes, quality and productivity.

May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency to support individual and plant objectives.

Participate on new project teams as required.

Possess knowledge of JDE (ERP) system at high proficiency level to configure and interpret production planning module.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products; Excel, PowerPoint.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.

Good customer service skills and flexibility for handling a wide range of activities.

Ability to follow-up on all duties and tasks until completed.

Using analysis, logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.

Demonstrate personal time management skills.

Education and/or Experience:

A four-year degree in a business related or technical field along w/ 5+ years experience in planning/scheduling is required.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, and interpret documents. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized and dynamic situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

APICS certification a plus.
